Welcome to the Boulevardier: new and archived work by the writer and broadcaster Philip Sweeney and guests, plus information on events and trips you can take part in. The Boulevardier covers travel, world culture and gastronomy, includes some current affairs feature reportage, and aims to combine authoritative research and analysis with entertainment.

Suggestions and comments in English, French and Spanish are welcomed, Italian and Portuguese too at a pinch, but other languages only if no alternative, please.

All new work is first posted in chronological order under Latest Posts, and is then accessible also via the vertical Categories listing to the right. The masthead subject sections contain background information and samples of articles, visuals and sound.

The Boulevardier’s visual images are taken from a variety of sources. Wherever possible, their creators’ permission has been obtained, and future Gallery exhibitions may well explore their work further.

In some cases, it has not been possible to trace the originators of period illustrations. We would be delighted to hear from these artists and illustrators or their representatives with a view to arranging accreditation and further exhibition, or of course removing work should they not want The Boulevardier to showcase it.
